**Your new role**:
As a Performance Modeller, you will be responsible for the Asset Performance modelling activities associated with forecast of cost, performance and risk for the DDG Materiel Systems. You will contribute to the long term Optimisation of cost and performance outcomes for the Guided Missile Destroyers (DDG) class ship and shore systems.

Reporting to the Lead Capability Modeller you will be responsible for:

- Liaise with Asset Performance Analyst team and broader DDG Enterprise stakeholders to determine requirements and approach for cost and performance modelling in order to provide decision support and meet Asset Management objectives.
- Define, implement, populate, use, verify and validate performance and cost models and associated data sets. The models that could be used include, but are not limited to: life cycle cost models; availability models; reliability models; sparing models.
- Participate in the planning and costing of modelling activities, development and management of modelling plans, processes and framework.
- Preparation of reports to support business cases and decision making using the outputs from modelling activities.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Understanding of the Australian Defence or maritime sustainment environment (desirable)
- Working knowledge of Defence engineering, maintenance and financial policies and procedures (desirable).
- An understanding of Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) techniques such as Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and Sparing Optimisation (desirable)
- Demonstrated knowledge in analytical methods including, data manipulation and visualisation, statistics (distribution fitting, hypothesis testing using parametric and non-parametric models, and experimental design), probability (Bayesian inference, probabilistic risk analysis) and Monte Carlo simulation.
- Experience with Reliasoft, OPUS, SIMLOX or similar RAM Software (desirable)

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
