Salvos Stores are seeking a Full-time Permanent Environment and Sustainability Coordinator to support the ongoing strategic development of Environmental, Sustainability and post-consumer Circular Economy efforts.
Reporting to the Environment and Sustainability Manager, you will position Salvos Stores as a leader in the Circular Economy and ensure that practices align with The Salvation Army’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. By working for Salvos, you contribute to an organization that actively reduces clothing waste by repurposing and recycling donated goods. The key focus of this role will be to:
- Provide support in the form of contract administration, grant sourcing, supplier relationship management, reporting and operational support for enquires relating to The Salvation Army’s Environment and Sustainability initiatives.
- Work with an enthusiastic and environmentally conscious team with excellent values, whose desire to make a difference in the lives of others drives their daily lives.
- Develop strategies and help build a sustainable system with positive social and environmental outcomes.
- Be an expert and deliver new knowledge and information to your team and Salvos Stores as a whole.
- Use your business acumen to deliver recycled goods and know that the profits you make help those in need.
- Keep recycling initiatives up to scratch to reduce waste and pollution by keeping up to date with emerging trends and legislative/regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A passion for environmental sustainability and circular economy management.
- A desire to work in an organisation that delivers positive social impact.
- Proven experience in research, analysis, and database management, as well as with managing projects.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills.
