**The Role**

The Chief Operating Officer for Macquarie Government is a newly created role to lead the scaling and operational excellence of MacGov Operations. Leading high performing teams consisting of Managers, Engineers, Service Delivery Managers, Architects and Project Managers amongst others, to deliver secure sovereign Cloud and Cyber Security solutions to our government customers.

Day-to-day, the Chief Operating Officer oversees all aspects of the Service Delivery, Service Assurance and Service Management functions as well as liaising with operational teams across other business units. The role forms part of the Macquarie Government Senior Leadership Team that defines the strategy of, and tracking against, the broader Macquarie Government business growth plans.

This role will be accountable for the security posture of the business unit and ensuring we deliver as contracted to our Government customers.

**About you**
- Relevant tertiary qualification - Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or Accounting is beneficial
- 10 years’ experience within a managed (IT/infrastructure and/or cyber security) services provider
- Australian citizen as you will be working with classified government information
- Excellent people management skills
- Experience working with external customers in a competitive environment
- Operational / Process Improvement - developing a team to operational maturity
- Experience in a “challenger mindset” environment
- Solid Change and Risk management capabilities
- Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans
- Highly metrics driven
