**About the role**:
Officeworks is hiring an Indigenous Engagement Lead to join our Diversity and Inclusion Team. Wesfarmers has a long history of supporting Reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and is one of 18 organisations to have achieved Elevate RAP status from Reconciliation Australia.
As part of the Wesfarmers group, Officeworks is committed to building an inclusive culture and a network of Team Members that represent the community in which we live. This role will drive the recruitment and development of First Nations team members, enhance cultural awareness for our Team Members and deliver the overarching cultural capability strategy to continue to foster a culturally safe environment to attract and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent. This role requires understanding of First Nations people, with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with them.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Wesfarmers Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) - Drive the delivery of the RAP and the Officeworks’ Indigenous Strategic Plan, and ensure an appropriate governance framework, including status and progress reporting.
- First Nations Events Plan - Partner with the Internal Communications and Events and Community teams to deliver NAIDOC Week and NRW events and local activity across the business.
- Cultural Awareness and Leadership Programs Plan
- Lead and deliver the overarching cultural capability strategy to continue to foster a culturally safe environment to attract and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent. Including the management of the First Nations education and Wesfarmers Indigenous Leadership Program, including customising Cultural Awareness training, project managing employment initiatives, and engaging stakeholders.
- Lead and deliver the overarching Indigenous Employment Strategy Plan - Achieve employment targets that have been set in relation to Wesfarmers’ support of the government’s Employment Parity Initiative (EPI) regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation. You will build and maintain strong relationships with our partners to promote careers at Officeworks and ensure employment outcomes (such as Clontarf). You will oversee and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment programs, pathways and initiatives.
**About you**:
- Knowledge of the First Nations labour market, delivering culturally appropriate recruitment practices and strong relationships with Indigenous Employment providers.
- Demonstrated ability to show respect for and make a meaningful connection with Traditional Owners and communities across Australia.
- Experience in working on a corporate RAP - ideally Elevate status.
- Experience in developing, managing and facilitating training programs.
- The capability to interpret and analyse quantitative data including reporting on RAP progress
- Prior experience within in a large-scale corporate setting would be beneficial, with specific experience in Supply chain and procurement would be advantageous.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational, planning and project management skills.
- Relevant industry experience in retail or operations would be beneficial.
Education/Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, in Human Resources, Business / Commerce or Psychology preferred but not required.
