Junior Legal Assistant (Medical Law)

What are we looking for?

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a positive, energetic and highly motivated Junior Legal Assistant to join our Medical Law team in Dandenong. This role is a permanent full-time position.

Lawyers in our Medical Law teams assist clients who are impacted by medical negligence (also known as medical malpractice). This is the failure from a health-care provider, including GPs, dentists and specialists, to treat clients with reasonable skill and care, causing an injury as a result.

This exciting role will be responsible for providing administrative support to a busy Lawyer and you will work closely with a Senior Legal Assistant.

During a typical day as a Junior Legal Assistant, you can expect to be doing the following:

- Filing
- Arranging appointments and diary management
- Talking and corresponding with clients
- Typing legal correspondence and court documents
- Preparing briefs to counsel
- Working with a close knit, fast paced, friendly and high achieving team you will be guided and mentored throughout your role with the opportunity to grow and develop your career.

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role ideally you will had experience working in an administration, medical or legal role and you may have completed a Business Administration (or similar) certificate or diploma.

It would be great if you had experience in the following:

- Experience in legal administration or customer service
- Organised and proactive with a high attention to detail
- Ability to confidently multi-task and prioritise
- A willingness and motivation to learn and develop in legal administration
- An understanding of Microsoft Office and an ability to pick up new software packages quickly
- A genuine passion and desire to work in Personal Injury Law.
