THE ROLE
Are you

- Able to build, communicate with, and maintain sensitive relationships with key stakeholders, including survivors of institutional abuse to facilitate a trauma-informed and partnership approach?
- A strategic thinker who can approach issues innovatively and work to tight timelines?
The position will be responsible for leading a new team to design and prepare for implementation of a new Victorian Government redress scheme for people who experienced historical abuse and neglect in institutional care (the Scheme). The aim of the Scheme is to provide support and deliver a formal apology to Victorians who were placed in orphanages, children's homes and missions and experienced physical, psychological, and emotional abuse of neglect. It will cover an historical period up to 1990 when children were placed in care for reasons including welfare and safety concerns, economic stress, social disadvantage, being orphaned, having a single parent or parental mental illness.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Provide expert business intelligence, authoritative advice and policy recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research.
- Develop operations and practice initiatives to meet the strategic directions for managing and delivering high quality services. Review and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs and cabinet and agency submissions on complex issues.
- Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex policy and sensitive issues.
