Field Operations Technician

**H&L POS is looking to hire a Field Operations Technician to be part of our Professional Services Team to train current and new customers and deploy hardware and technical services at client venues** H&L POS is seeking a full-time for a Field Operations Technician to join our ever-growing team in Melbourne, Vic. This role will come with a competitive salary and will include a fully maintained company vehicle. Working closely with the National Field Operations Manager, you will be focusing your effort on our customers based in Melbourne and surrounding areas, providing exceptional technical services, as well as training on our POS Software. This role requires the ability to: Train current and new customers, and deploy hardware and technical services at the venue. **Here is a little window into our company**:H&L POS are currently providing a point-of-sale solution to over 2500 clients across Australia. While at H&L we're regarded as a leading systems developer, we're first and foremost hospitality people. **What your day will look like**: - Operating in a national team to provide FOH & BOH Technical Support and POS Training to hospitality venues primarily in Melbourne, however remote Tech and Training work is required depending on incoming work - On-site and remote deployment of a range of servers, touchscreens and peripherals - Training end users on the POS, inventory/stock control and accounting integrations - Using Team Support to manage tickets and source information as needed - Configuring EFTPOS Services for a range of banks/providers (Linkly, Tyro etc) - Completing Software upgrades - Configuration of services for third-party apps such as Me&U, Mr Yum, Hungry Hungry, Accounts Flow - Up to 20% travel - Ability to yourself in the customer's shoes when thinking about a problem and its solution - Open-minded and adaptable in responding to new challenges and opportunities - Demonstrate a love for continually learning and improving your skills and knowledge **About you**: - Previous experience troubleshooting and installing equipment including but not limited to POS systems, network cabling, and peripherals - Knowledge of Windows, Win 7/10 operating system - Knowledge of Windows server Operating Systems including SQL server - Knowledge of LAN and WAN (TCP, UDP, VPN) - Reasonable knowledge of basic SQL commands - Ability to learn new technology quickly, and follow procedures/SOPs - Strong communication skills with the ability to train end users - Excellent time management skills - A "roll up the sleeves" attitude towards problem-solving - Bring a proven entrepreneurial spirit and pace-setter traits - Approachable, patient, and honest - Strong communicator - Dedicated and hardworking - Solution-focused - Able to work independently and be a self-starter - Experience in working in a Hospitality based role advantageous - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline highly desirable - Comfortable working independently as well as in a team - Legally authorized to work in Australia
