We are seeking a Land Development Officer to join our Development Services team with our Customer Services Division on a fixed-term basis for 8 months.

Remuneration & Hours:

- 35 hour working week**:

- Base salary range of $82000 - $85000 plus Superannuation

**The Opportunity**

**What you'll do**:

- Provide general servicing advice and enquiries to developers, customers and potential purchasers.
- Maintaining a current knowledge of regulatory, legislative, environmental and technical changes that may impact Hunter Water’s services and requirements (SEPP, LEP, DCP etc)
- Provide guidance and support to staff across Customer Services
- Review and approve the requirements for construction of assets, servicing requirements and identifying Hunter Water’s critical assets.
- Ensure that a high level of quality assurance is maintained
- Calculating development loadings and developer charges in accordance with approved methodology.
- Review, approve and issue Section 50 compliance certificates
- Identifying and determining contributions for previously laid network assets and organising payments
- Co-ordinate internal assessment advice from various stakeholders
- Input and maintenance of data in the Developer Portal, TRIM, CIS systems (Velocity), and use of TRIM workflows.

**What you'll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Minimum Certificate in Business Administration or equivalent work experience
- Direct work experience in government, industry or related building sector
- Ability to assess and interpret building and construction plans
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, building rapport with customers and staff
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Ability to gain a working knowledge of electronic document system
- Ability to use computer software and hardware including PDF, MS Word, Excel and GIS based systems like WebGIS or equivalent
- Ability to gain and maintain a sound knowledge of HWC policies, procedures and knowledge of customer service delivery processes

**Desirable Criteria**:

- General Environmental Awareness - Office based
- Direct experience in development assessment
- Technical skills associated with water and sewer systems
- Advanced customer service skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
