About the Role

Land and Property Coordinator role at Bendigo Advertiser. Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd, has commenced operations in the Hunter Valley with planned production up to 8 million tonnes per annum, approvals in place out to 2046, targeting high quality coal (mostly metallurgical coal).

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate heritage-related issues and manage land management activities and offsite properties.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation activities and manage environmental contractors for land management tasks (weeds management, feral animals, bushfire mitigation, erosion control, bioremediation).
  • Engage with Aboriginal communities, coordinate site work, and develop cultural awareness activities.
  • Inspect and report areas affected by spontaneous combustion and coordinate remedial measures.
  • Meet regularly with leasees regarding rural properties and maintenance of offsite properties.
  • Analyze environmental data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical advice on environmental matters to support safe, productive and cost-effective mining operations.
  • Contribute to the site's environmental strategy and liaise with local landholders, community members and government officials.
  • Provide relevant environmental training for operational personnel and help foster a safety-focused culture aligned with company values.
About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science, Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in the mining industry.
  • A thorough understanding of NSW environmental legislation.
  • Experience in mine rehabilitation, biodiversity offsets and land management activities.
  • Prior experience in property management.
  • Proficiency in project and contractor management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
