**Who we are**
The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is part of the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. As primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program (AAP), the AAD is responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals. These goals are to:

- protect the Antarctic environment
- understand the role of Antarctica in the global climate system
- undertake scientific work of practical, economic and national significance.

The AAD is also responsible for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory, which includes Heard Island and McDonald Islands territories. This involves managing and protecting these unique and fragile environments and conducting scientific research to better understand and preserve them.

The AAD has a commitment to cultivate a positive, inclusive culture that promotes diversity and equity.

The primary objective of the Expeditioner Capability and Training Section is to ensure that expeditioners receive comprehensive training before their deployment to Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic.
We do this by implementing an interdisciplinary training program that considers seasonal planning and a broad range of training requirements. Our scope spans diverse technical, community-based, and governmental aspects, ensuring a comprehensive capability framework for the Australian Antarctic Program.

You will also provide support to stakeholders who rely on the TMS to assist with season planning, resource allocation, and rostering activities.

General responsibilities include:

- ** Projects**: Co-ordinate learning technology system projects, implementations, changes, and integrations by working in collaboration with vendors, internal stakeholders, and the department’s ICT teams.
- ** Advice**: Provide technical advice to ECT management and contribute to learning technology roadmap planning.
- ** Vendor Management**: Maintain good working relationships with technology vendors whilst co-ordinating support and maintenance agreements.
- ** Training**: Deliver learning systems training to key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities include:

- Ensure expeditioner training profiles align with role requirements.
- Implement robust process and monitoring activities to adequately capture expeditioner training compliances within the TMS (e.g. course attendance, licences, qualifications, certificates).
- Support stakeholders by providing reports, systems access, and training to aid in resource planning and rostering activities.

**What you'll gain from the experience**
The successful applicant will gain expertise in learning technology systems, develop strong collaboration skills by working with diverse stakeholders, and gain valuable experience ensuring training compliance and meeting regulatory requirements.
