The AAD is also responsible for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory, which includes Heard Island and McDonald Islands territories. This involves managing and protecting these unique and fragile environments and conducting scientific research to better understand and preserve them.

The successful applicant will gain expertise in learning technology systems, develop strong collaboration skills by working with diverse stakeholders, and gain valuable experience ensuring training compliance and meeting regulatory requirements.
