Position: Airborne Survey Sensor Operator
Type : Full Time and Contract Based Offers
Location: Castle Hill, NSW

HyVista Corporation, based in Castle Hill NSW, is a company that undertakes airborne surveys across Australia and overseas. The company operates hyperspectral systems and both large and medium format digital mapping cameras.

The primary responsibilities of an airborne sensor operator are to effectively operate an assigned remote sensing system and support the processing, exploitation and dissemination of collected information.

Some of the general duties of an airborne sensor operator are:

- Flight and sensor survey planning
- Sensor installation, testing and maintenance
- Flight and crew management
- Aerial navigation
- Sensor operation
- Quality control (QC) of acquired data
- Project reporting
- Data management and transfer
- The ability to travel regularly for extended periods of time, both domestically and internationally
- Be comfortable in operating in small aircraft environments at various altitudes for extended periods
- Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft based software
- Possess or can acquire an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Posses Australian residential status, passport and drivers license
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and a tenacity for problem solving
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions and procedures

Desirable qualifications and experience:

- Operating knowledge of aerial survey sensors and flight planning software
- Have a working knowledge of remote sensing principles and digital imaging
- Technical qualification in surveying and/or spatial sciences
- An understanding of meteorology
