Maritime Fleet Technical Superintendent

As the Riverside Marine Fleet Technical Superintendent you will be responsible for a wide range of project management and technical solution outcomes. Under the direction of the Group Technical Manager, the Technical Superintendent participates in all aspects of maritime projects and fleet management, this includes: business development solutions, special survey renewals, design modifications, new build production, technical investigations, safety enhancements, asset management, maintenance management, decarbonisation solutions and compliance support.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support business units with the goal of having the best maintained fleet in the Australian maritime industry.
- Provide technical support and develop the engineering capabilities within the Riverside Marine Head Office Technical Unit.
- Provide technical support and lead technical solutions within the Business Development Team
- Provide project management to dockings, major projects, new builds and vessel design upgrade projects.
- Provide support within a technical scope of Engineering and Configuration Management within the Riverside Marine group fleet and business unit areas.
- Provide project management support, mentoring and instruction to Business Unit superintendents (specification, design, engineering, scheduling, budget)
- Work closely with Riverside Marine General Managers to provide technical solutions
- Support investigations and root cause analisys of vessel / systems failures
- Provide support and leave coverage for Operations based Technical Superintendents across the Riverside Marine Group.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Have experience in design and engineering drawings for commercial (ie tug boats, work boats, barges, dredging) and passenger vessels (ie aluminium ferries, mono-hull transfer vessels).
- Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of applicable AMSA RAV/ NSCV and Class rules and regulations.
- Be able to provide examples of your ability to take a project from a conceptual discussion through the design and developement phase to successful execution.
- Have a desire to work within a new build vessel production team in a senior capacity.
- Have experience working with a diverse integrated fleet technical unit
- Have substantial experience in dockyard project mangement
- Have inherent knowledge of naval archtecture and design, including experience with quality assurance processes and production best practice.
- Have extensive understanding of all vessel systems.
- Have strong technical writing skills including the ability to produce and present clear, detailed written technical specifications, procedures, bullitens and reports.
- Have the ability to work automisly and possess a sense of urgency.
- Be process driven and possess a high level of attention to detail.
- Be expected to travel as required to Riverside’s business units across Australia and/ or International destinations.

**Mandatory qualifications / experience required**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Marine Engineering and/or Engineer Class III
- Project Management qualification - Diploma or higher (desirable)
- Significant experience in fleet superintendency including docking and shipbuilding projects
