We’re seeking a Technical Director - Maritime to join our Buildings Engineering & Maritime team in Brisbane. This technical leadership role focuses on building and strengthening GHD’s market share, helping to develop a pipeline of work in line with the group’s business plan, overseeing and delivering projects to the satisfaction of our clients, and showing technical leadership across the Region and beyond.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Responsibilities

- Leading engagement with clients, stakeholders and industry across a diverse range of maritime projects, including for Defence, Ports Authorities, oil & gas, renewable energy and international aid.

- Project and design management to add value across the entire project lifecycle and ensure the delivery of outputs to requirement, quality, program and budgetary expectations.

- Coordinating and managing project teams and mentoring less experienced team members.

- Leading and contributing to the preparation of proposals and bids for projects.

- Contributing to the group’s business development activities, including developing relationships with clients.

- Collaborating with our international colleagues with the pursuit of opportunities, design management and technical leadership in project delivery.

What you will bring to the team

- Proven experience in the technical leadership and management of maritime infrastructure projects.

- Approximately 15-20 years of professional experience in the planning, assessment, analysis, design and remediation of maritime structures (e.g. wharves, jetties, ship lifts, pontoons, seawalls, etc).

- Demonstrated experience and proven ability to lead/direct multidisciplinary teams in delivering large projects.

- Extensive knowledge of relevant standards and industry best practices, familiarity with international design standards.

- Experience with identifying/pursuing opportunities and building relationships with a range of clients to drive growth.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering with relevant registration/ chartership (RPEQ/CPEng).

- Eligibility to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance is preferred.
