About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Prospect Researcher to join our Fundraising team on a permanent full time basis based out of our Blackburn, Melbourne office.

This newly created position will provide proactive and reactive in depth background into high value prospects for The Salvation Army including history, motivation and recommendations for solicitations. Working alongside the Senior Prospect Researcher you will focus your efforts on background research, preparing reports and supporting the Transformational Gifts program.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support creation of a prospect pipeline, ensuring supporter details are documented to enable an insightful, seamless and quality supporter journey
- Researching the activities, interests and connections of potential major donors
- Identifying other philanthropic interests of current prospects and donors
- Analyse accumulated information to assess the capacity, philanthropic tendencies and affinity of prospect donors
- Develop in-depth research profiles (including due diligence) and briefings for high value prospects and donors
- Record relevant financial, biographical and relationship data from research and maintain up to information in the CRM database
- Ensuring all prospects are allocated appropriately across the Relationship Managers portfolios
- Working with Transformational Gifts teams to support the development of reports that demonstrate fundraising activity

About you:

- A degree with/or subsequent relevant research experience in a related field such as not-for-profit, higher education, journalism and corporate research
- High level of intellectual curiosity, persistence in intelligence gathering and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise judgement as to the relevance of information and the manner of sourcing it
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and organise information to identify philanthropic patterns, tendencies and relationships among individuals, corporations and foundations
- Strong computer literacy in MS Office Suite and presentation software
