Huon is on the lookout for a Work Health & Safety Advisor to provide safety and wellbeing support to our Parramatta Creek Processing Factory and northern Hatcheries.

**The role**

Reporting to the Work Health & Safety Lead, the Work Health & Safety Advisor will play a key role in contributing to Huon’s Wellbeing and Safety performance. You will:

- Develop strong, collaborative relationships at all levels across Huon, coaching Huon leaders and teams to anticipate, identify, and evaluate conditions and practices.
- Drive a strong safety culture within Huon and give a dedicated presence onsite at all required locations.
- Maintain effective communications across the organisation and ensure stakeholders are kept engaged with our WHS practices.
- Provide expert guidance and support to ensure effective risk management and promote a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety.
- Assist site leaders and teams facilitating safety assessments and review and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for stakeholder groups.
- Bring a proactive approach, contributing to the review and development of Huon’s WHS procedures and processes.

Primarily located at our Parramatta Creek Processing Factory, travel to our northern Hatcheries will be required.

**About you**

We are looking for a passionate and pragmatic Work Health & Safety professional who is hands on and passionate about coaching others on best practice safety methodology. You will:

- Hold a tertiary WHS qualification and relevant experience in an operational WHS position.
- Proven experience managing safety concerns and undertake the appropriate actions to minimise risks promoting safety excellence.
- Be a strong communicator who builds robust and effective rapport with stakeholders that allows you to influence, coach, and partner with others.
- Think critically and evaluate probable outcomes to anticipate and proactively manage safety matters.
- Hold an unrestricted and current driver’s licence and are willing to travel to sites.
