They are one of Australia’s most diverse workforces and are continually looking for innovative ways to excel, meaning their investment in technology and people is immense.

They work closely with employers, workers and the community to prevent workplace injury and illness and to improve outcomes and the client experience. They’re currently seeking a Product Designer to join the organisation on a contractual basis which has a high possibility of turning to permanent. The organisation are based in Geelong and work on a hybrid work from basis of 3 days per week in the office.

**About the Role**

Working within the Enforcement and Advice program, this is a combined User Experience (UX) & User Interface (UI) design role in the team responsible for developing the organisation's digital platforms.

The Product Designer is a human-centred design thinking expert capable of working with the organisation's customers and stakeholders to explore user problems and design solutions based on user needs.

This role is responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, translating insights into clear recommendations, as well as designing wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces that lead to intuitive user experiences.

**About You**

The key accountabilities of the role are as follows:

- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
- Discern the needs of all stakeholders and actors in our products & services — both customers and service providers (e.g. license holders, registered training organisations, agents, health providers).
- Perform primary research including interviews, ethnography, and usability tests
- Perform secondary research to explore potential opportunities (e.g. Desktop Research)
- Lead and facilitate discovery, ideation, co-design and/or prototyping workshops
- Leverage rapid prototyping tools and techniques to test and iterate solutions
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
- Take a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs using an existing design system
- Work closely with product owners and business analysts to clearly understand business requirements.
- Work in an agile sprint-based environment where ability to accurate prioritise, estimate and deliver on time to agreed standards, is critical.

Requirements of this position include:

- Experience design across multiple platforms, web, mobile web and apps
- Knowledge of best practice UX design principles
- Strong skills in building interactive experiences (UI components and visual elements of design)
- Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate workshops & usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping and analysis
- Proven ability to manage projects with a high level of ambiguity
- Ability to think creatively, and develop new and innovative ways of approaching problems/opportunities and engaging with various audiences
- Proven ability to work with clients and to leverage human-centred methods such as empathy to understand their needs and wants
- Proven ability to experiment by leveraging prototyping tools and techniques to iterate solutions
- Superior stakeholder engagement skills with the proven capability to build and maintain productive working relationships across a range of stakeholders, collaborating at all levels
