**About the role**:
The Commercial specialist at Origin at Origin’s Future Energy & Technology oversees the commercial operations within the Data & Analytics division, including budget monitoring and vendor contract management.

This role is pivotal in contributing significantly to Origin’s Data & Analytics journey by ensuring efficient financial management and effective partnerships with external vendors.

**Why this role matters?**
- Develop and oversee the annual budget ($15-20M) for the Data & Analytics business unit. Report monthly to business stakeholders, Finance and senior management on YTD spend, forecasts and impact on the budget (to GM level).
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks in the contracts governed and where possible identify any operational issues which may drive material commercial and/or contractual risk.
- Drive resolution of any commercial or contract issues highlighted in governance forums with the relevant Contract Owners.
- Lead contract management for key supplier contracts including vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation and establishment, scope definition and management, pricing analysis, performance management, invoicing, governance and compliance etc are performed as per Origin corporate requirements, working with vendors, Finance, Legal and IT Procurement as required.
- Work collaboratively with Finance to support financial management processes including budget formulation, expenditure tracking, capitalisation, accruals etc.
- Assist in the formulation of strategy plans, formal business cases relating to new strategic opportunities and investments and collateral for strategic Initiatives such as capital projects.
- Focus on continuous improvement within all processes above.

**What will you bring?**

You will have demonstrated expertise in **budget design**, **tracking**, **reporting** along with the ability to **develop** **acquisition** **strategies** for specified **commercial** needs.
- Prior experience in contract formulation and management.
- Strong communication, representation and business relationship building skills.
- Highly numerate with demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to understand complex models.
- Prior experience in data analysis and modelling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
