About the Role
Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
When the Hepatology Trainee (AT) is on leave, assist in the inpatient care of Hepatology inpatients and provide supervision to the junior medical staff on the ward. If there is an inpatient with acute liver failure, play an active role in their inpatient care.
Preparation and presentation of cases to the Queensland Liver Transplant Committee assessment meetings, a shared responsibility with the Hepatology AT. Regular review of post-liver transplant test results and actioning as clinically indicated.
Responsible for all interna Hepatology consults and external hepatology telephone calls and referrals.
Regular attendance and active participation at weekly Hepatology outpatient clinics, pre
- and post-liver transplant clinics, HCC MDT, endoscopy/colonoscopy lists and departmental education meetings - including Morbidity & Mortality meetings, as outlined on formal timetable.
