**About the Role...**

We have multiple opportunities for suitably qualified pest and weed operators to join our City Operations - Support Services team.

In this role you will undertake and support the delivery of Council’s city-wide Weed and Pest management control Programs including (but not limited to):

- Effective weed and pest control of council verges, kerbs/gutters, medians, alleyways, fence lines, firebreaks, mulched areas and open space.
- Identify and control weeds and pests on Council ovals, irrigated reserves, irrigated main road medians and verges including but not limited to Broadleaf; Termites, and Ants.
- Tracking and eradication of bees, wasps (Operation of Fogging machine).
- Undertaking weed and pest control methods including; chemical, biological, mechanical (such as whipper snipping and mechanical edging methods), hand weeding, hedging, minor pruning as directed by the Manager or Quality Coordinator.

It’s important to us that you are the right fit to join our team, but just as important, that Playford is the right place for you. You will need a range of relevant and current certificates, licences and experience to be suitable for this role. Some of these include holding formal qualifications in Conservation & Land Management or Conservation and Eco System Management (minimum requirement) and a current (unrestricted) MR Driver's licence.

In addition you will have:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pest and weed management.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in operating Council’s medium plant and equipment relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in following required procedures in relation to MSDS requirements relevant to weed and pest control.
