Playford is the fastest growing Council in SA, and with that growth comes opportunity. We’re seeking experienced and motivated Irrigation Maintenance Officers to join our Parks & Landscapes team and take a key role in maintaining and optimising Council’s city-wide irrigation network across parks, streetscapes, gardens and sportsgrounds.
These pivotal front line service delivery roles support City Operation work programs and activities by delivering essential value for money services to our community.
**About the Role**
These pivotal front-line service delivery roles ensure the performance, safety and efficiency of our irrigation systems. Your work will directly contribute to Playford’s vibrant and green public spaces - helping make them safe, functional and visually appealing for our community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating, maintaining and monitoring pressurised irrigation systems including central control and stand-alone controllers.
- Adjusting system settings and seasonal programs, troubleshooting faults and conducting system audits to ensure uniformity and compliance with IPOS best practice.
- Leading onsite irrigation activities and mentoring other team members in best-practice maintenance techniques.
- Using your diagnostic skills to monitor soil moisture, flow rates, and system efficiency.
- Working collaboratively across teams to ensure irrigation aligns with broader city appearance and sustainability goals.
**About You**
You will possess:
- A Certificate III in Irrigation Technology or Certificate III in Horticulture
- A current (unrestricted) MR Driver’s licence
- Experience with commercial irrigation systems, including central control operations and fault diagnostics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Incumbents in this position will be required to possess or be willing to gain a National Criminal History Clearance. Satisfactory completion of a Pre-employment medical and functional capacity Assessment (including Drug & Alcohol Screen) will also be a mandatory requirement.
