**About the Team**
The Supplier Quality Engineering Manager role reports through to our Supplier Quality Manager and oversees a team of 6 employees. This role will sit alongside our Incoming Goods Inspection Lead and will work closely with the greater Quality team, as well as Procurement, Production and Engineering. This role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.
**About the Role**
The Supplier Quality Engineering Manger role is responsible for planning, delegating, and conducting supplier audits to onboard new suppliers. This role will focus on engaging with suppliers to ensure that their manufacturing processes are capable to support the ongoing supply of quality product.
- The general and generic duties of the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager include, but not limited to:
- Coordination of the various Rheinmetall Entity requirements for the engagement in, requirements for, and communication of Supplier Audits and Assessments;
- Tracking the execution of improvement measures resulting from audit deviations at suppliers;
- Supplier performance monitoring and reporting using relevant statistical methods and tools;
- Identification, initiation and follow-up of quality improvement measures at suppliers;
- Cross-project coordination, planning and evaluation of initial sampling of procured products and services through the conduct of Product Audits and First Article Inspections (FAI) at suppliers;
- Conducting and managing the risk based performance of FAI activities to assess the level of compliance and assured compliance of procured parts and assemblies. Both for new and changed parts and assemblies;
- To ensure non-conformances related to supplier products or services are documented, acted upon and fully resolved, Drive the implementation of cross-functional team problem solving disciplines and initiate necessary actions to prevent recurrence of supplier quality issues; and
- Coordination of Supplier Development activities, plans and requirements for both response to Rheinmetall assessment outcomes, as well as the general improvement of suppliers as part of the Supplier Development and AIC initiatives and requirements.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Extensive Quality management, planning and auditing experience;
- Experience in dealing with and effectively communicating with suppliers;
- Experienced in deploying Quality tools and techniques;
- Certified Lead Auditor;
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or manufacturing discipline, providing a solid technical background;
- Minimum 5 years work experience (at least two years engaging with external suppliers) in a complex industry (e. g. heavy vehicle, defence, automotive);
- Experienced in Project Management methodologies from conception to completion;
- Experience in Requirements management;
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; and
- Ability to travel extensively interstate and international if required.
