WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR **About the Team** The Supplier Quality Manager role has a team of 7 direct reports and 4 indirect reports. The Supplier Quality team is made up of Supplier Development Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers and the Incoming Quality Inspection team. This role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, QLD. **About the Role** The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational management support to Procurement by overseeing various supplier quality projects to ensure performance and deliverables of contractors/ suppliers are consistent with global and local business requirements. - The general and generic duties of the Supplier Quality Manager include, but not limited to: - Lead the effort on supplier vetting and performance review process through a balance scorecard approach; - Collect and evaluate supplier quality data and report/present supplier performance metrics monthly and as requested; - Embed the formal risk management approach which applies at all levels of the organisation and will enable an effective control mechanism for all members of the Company to identify those elements of concern and for management to be assured of good oversight and management processes to be applied to ensure our ongoing success; - Lead and conduct external audits and participate in internal audit of contractors and supplier quality systems to ensure compliance with global and local business requirements and applicable regulatory requirements; - Identify "At-Risk" suppliers and employ quality strategies with them to prevent production of defective product; - Support the external suppliers with the use of preventive quality methods, process capability and supplier production process to ensure high quality and permanent improvement of supplier performance; - Collaborate with the local Procurement Team and global supply base to identify new suppliers, sourcing evaluations and risk assessments and assist them with supplier corrective actions, technical and the delivery of quality products; and - Assist in training both internal and external suppliers on the supplier management documentation requirements from Australian Defence. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: - Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Engineering or related field; - Demonstrated 5-10 years’ experience in supplier evaluation/selection and supply base management; - Demonstrated progressive leadership experience (3-5 years) in managing a geographically dispersed team; - Proven experience within project/ program management experience in the manufacturing/ defence/ government environment; - Experience working in a large matrix organisation; - Advance MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); - Ability to travel both domestically and internationally when required; and - Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
