**About the Job**

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing employee relations activities at Rest whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and reaching outcomes for employee relations matters that are consistent and within Rest’s risk appetite. The role will develop and maintain People & Culture framework, policies, processes and documentation in conjunction with the relevant COE’s and they will support the P&C team to uplift understanding of employee relations within the team.

**Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities**
- Ensure all employee relations activities are compliant with legislation, regulatory change and within Rest’s risk appetite.
- Manage the development and maintenance schedule of all People & Culture owned policies and employee relations procedures and recommend the implementation of new policies as appropriate.
- Proactively keep abreast of the Australia employee relations landscape to provide recommendations for changes at Rest and implement any approved changes including working collaboratively with various stakeholders..
- Keep on top of current and future employee relations trends and recommend improvements to Rest’s employee relations framework.
- Conduct investigations into employee grievances or concerns and facilitate any resolution activities such as facilitated discussions.
- Track grievances, whistleblowing reports, case management and report to relevant oversight e.g People, Culture and Remuneration Committee.
- Provide guidance and support to the People Partners and other relevant P&C stakeholders on employee relations matters and create knowledge sharing opportunities to uplift employee relations understanding in the P&C team and across Rest leadership.
- Analyse people and culture and employee relations data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Monitor and maintain the Whistleblowing framework

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in human resource management, employee relations or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Previous experience working in the Financial Services Industry (e.g. superannuation, wealth management) strongly desirable.

**Required experience, understanding or credentials including**:

- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, relationship building skills
- Ability to effectively challenge people, situations and current thinking; and give real time, constructive feedback
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team, multi-task and prioritise workload with strong accountability and drive
- Versatile and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues or problems and recommend strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving them.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations accountabilities including:

- Ability to understand and interpret employment related legislation and regulatory requirements
- End to end case management
- Running investigations
- Writing employee relations policies and procedures
- Experience in mediations or leading conciliations including unfair dismissals highly regarded
