- Provide proactive risk-based advice and support on complex people issues
- Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne (hybrid), with 50% WFH

Suncorp is looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our high performing, collaborative team as a trusted advisor to the business on a 12 month contract. Our team is responsible for providing timely and pragmatic advice on all employee relations matters, including support on escalated and complex people issues and initiatives.

**What you'll do**

Reporting to the Manager, Employee Relations, you will provide commercially balanced and risk conscious advice on complex people issues, by:

- Acting as an escalation point and providing coaching and guidance on complex case management, including terminations, long term absenteeism and disputes.
- Managing employment related claims and representing Suncorp in the Fair Work Commission and related employment tribunals.
- Working across a wide range of employment matters, including enterprise agreement interpretation, legislative compliance, organisational change, complaints and investigations, workers’ compensation claims, executive matters, and third party relationship management.
- Identifying and reporting on trends and emerging people risks, developing and reviewing policies for continuous improvement, and contributing to cross training and upskilling across our broader team.

**What you'll bring**
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Employee Relations or Human Resources (**mandatory**)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in employment law or employee relations, with in-house experience highly regarded
- Collaborative and consultative approach, while also able to work autonomously
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including before a senior executive audience
- Proven ability to efficiently manage time, work to deadlines and deliver on competing priorities.
