**About the Role**:
The Manager - Acquisition and Divestment is responsible for driving Infrastructure Services Division property functions across the Department. Key areas associated with the role include high quality assessment, governance and reporting, managing a forward program and prioritising key investment decisions utilising a Strategic Land Acquisition Fund.
This will include engagement on investment decisions for the department, review and implementation of infrastructure and property related systems, policies, projects and programs of work. Specifically, you will lead and manage the delivery of complex land matters with a focus on outcomes. This includes due diligence, site services, access, commercial negotiation and agreements, compulsory acquisition, and associated relevant actions to achieve site readiness and subsequent tenure actions to facilitate delivery of growth projects.
As the Manager you will have the following responsibilities but not limited to:
Manage teams in the delivery, management and reporting for a range of complex infrastructure, planning and asset management activities for the department.
Lead and manage the implementation of property programs including identification and development of acquisition, augmentation, and disposal programs.
Analyse potential risks, opportunities and strengths in current portfolio by working across the department to identify opportunities, ensuring consistency in decision making, providing learnings for future programs.
Provide timely, independent specialist property and planning advice in relation to acquisitions and divestment.
Lead discussion and negotiation of land transactions for expansion of existing schools and new schools delivery.
Undertake consultation with private developers and landowners to acquire land strategically for future schooling needs.
**About You**:
Although not mandatory, qualifications or industry experience in Land Act and Acquisition of Land Act administration, tenure conversion, property valuation and Native Title and Cultural Heritage will be beneficial.
Experience in leading the delivery of high-quality property advice, including the development of appropriate service responses to meet the identified needs of stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery outcomes are achieved.
Strong research skills and well-developed written skills, including report and brief writing.
Awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and policy which impact upon a Queensland Government property portfolio.
Your willingness to stay connected to industry updates and networks, ability to be proactive and forward thinking, with a strong motivation to work towards organisational objectives will assist your success in this role.
