Investments Manager

**Job Description**:
As the Investments Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end investments process across the business. You will provide the overall financial stewardship to the Capital Committee that is responsible for reviewing and facilitating approval of capital annually as well as any Operational Expenditure project items. You will also ensure consistency of the investment model with the overall financial strategy of the company, whilst maintaining effective systems, policies and controls.

The role will be at the forefront of the Investments process for the company, therefore will require a step up in process, financial accountability, and post investment tracking. Supporting the Group Head, you will work extensively with resources outside the direct organization and leverage capability as needed across functions.

With a significant responsibility to regularly connect, engage and influence numerous stakeholders, you will require a high level of operational discipline to maintain accurate records and exemplary communication skills to manage the multiple stakeholders.

As the Investment Manager, you will:

- Lead the annual capex planning cycle, including the drumbeat of reviews, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets; ensuring consistency with longer-term strategy, partnering with Business Units and corporate functions.
- Developing and influencing a portfolio management concept of annual (and beyond) capex spend; including allocation of annual spend by business unit, corporate and recommending re-allocations as needed to maximise returns.
- Lead a step change on the regular drumbeats around capex planning, including but not limited to standardised fortnightly reports, meeting summary, business case templates and overall discipline of investments management.
- Ensure compliance of the Investments standard for the group, including ensuring DoA regularly reflects the management risk and oversight of spends. Refresh (or leverage new tool vs EODB, TARP) tools to ensure consistent single consolidated view of Investments tracking for the group.
- Ensure compliance with the Post Investment Review process, including setting the standard and frequency of tracking for the Investments committee, GLT and the Board.
- Expand the Capex processes to other major investment buckets across the company progressively to deliver a similar standard of improving return on investment, operational discipline and post investment review.
- Build Capability across the company with a capex education site, including delivering courses on business case creation, investment summaries, how to improve returns on investment, buy vs lease studies.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Solid understanding of financial investment evaluation and capital decision making; including but not limited to IRR, NPV, DCF, notional cash.
- Proven track record on commercial/management finance; as well as ability to delve into operational tasks/data/reporting as appropriate.
- Solid understanding of financial and management accounting.
- Strong analytical mindset as well as associated excel skills
- Exceptional communicator - both written, verbal with ability to adapt to broad range of stakeholders
- Ability to influence decisions on the basis of compelling analysis
- Strong attention to detail, and high levels of literacy and numeracy
- CA / CPA (preferred not essential
