The Star is growing as part of our renewal and remediation strategy. As Head of Policy Governance & Obligations Management, you will play a key role to strengthen The Star Entertainment Group’s position as a socially responsible corporate citizen.

The Star’s policy framework is a foundation element in our governance practices. Our policies guide our people on decision‑making to meet stakeholder expectations of sound corporate governance, compliance with all regulatory obligations and delivering to the expectations of customers, shareholders, funders, our people and the community.

Reporting to the General Manager of Compliance, you will join a passionate team to lead an effective governance policy framework to ensure The Star Entertainment group operates in accordance with all applicable laws.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the development of policies to ensure they reflect contemporary risk and governance expectations and provide clear behavioural guidance to employees
- Lead and manage a team of compliance professionals responsible for reviewing governance documents and management of obligations across The Star.
- Own the obligations register to set clear accountabilities for regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and anticipate regulatory change to ensure the potential impact on The Star’s obligation register is understood across relevant executives and managers.
- Review training and requirements in support of the business implementation of Frameworks and Policies. This includes developing content for compliance policies and reviewing training materials developed by other policy owners.
- Manage the calendar of review and approval of policies by the board and senior executives.
- Ensure key polices and supporting standard operating procedures and procedures are managed as controlled documents e.g stored centrally, assigned appropriate owners, and reviewed with regulators on a timely basis.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Direct experience in a senior legal or compliance role; ideally within a casino, entertainment, or hospitality environment.
- The ability to provide examples of where you have successfully executed compliance risk management, leadership, stakeholder management and post implementation reviews that demonstrated outcomes.
- The capability to manage a whistle-blower process.
- Proven experience in the design, implementation, and management of compliance risk management processes.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, including influencing
