The Opportunity:
AIA Australia is currently undergoing a large-scale technology transformation which will involve the introduction of many exciting new initiatives and provide a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and highly capable leader to drive the transformation of Technology Risk, Compliance across the business.
The Head of Technology Risk & Compliance is a key member of the extended Technology Leadership Team and will be pivotal in contributing to the successful enablement of the AIA Australia enterprise-wide IT strategy, vision and roadmap.
This role will be accountable for leading a shared services technology risk & compliance team for AIA Australia, and responsible for implementing framework and governance of Technology and Information Security controls.
- Leading the Technology Risk and Compliance function for AIA Australia
- Managing regulatory & audit engagement and customer requests to Technology for AIA Australia in collaboration with Group Office
- Driving strategic initiatives for technology risk management and process improvements
- Leading and driving the implementation of risk management and compliance policies and frameworks across Australia in association with Enterprise Risk to ensure risk and compliance disciplines are embedded (including risk profiling, incident management etc.)
- Enhancing the awareness of accountability and supporting the Technology Executive and Leadership Team in development of a comprehensive risk profile for Technology
- Providing thought leadership (e.g. developing risk scenarios) and challenge to support the identification, assessment and management of risks, including as a result of the business transformation agenda and other emerging risks
- Ensuring there are adequate processes/controls in place to meet technology obligations, attest to their adequacy and drive understanding over key areas (e.g. data sovereignty)
- Demonstrating and providing strong leadership with regards to professional standards and industry practices within the technology risk management discipline
- Leading and motivating a diversified team towards higher levels of performance aligned with AIA vision and values
- Building workforce capability and resilience in a disruptive business context to meet the changing needs of internal/external customers, new projects and technologies
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Extensive leadership experience in complex Technology Risk and Information Security environments, preferably within the Financial Services, Banking or Insurance sectors
- Significant understanding of technologies and contemporary technological challenges
- Demonstrated strategic vision, critical thinking and leadership skills
- Highly developed organisational and prioritisation skills
- Strong consultative, influencing, facilitation and communication skills
- Substantial experience leading medium to large sized teams
- Well-developed stakeholder management and engagement capability across local and regional business level, within a highly disruptive business environment
