**Position Overview**

The purpose of this position is to operate and maintain equipment in a safe, efficient, and competent manner.

As a mechanical fitter your duties are to perform fitting, stripping, testing, heating, and any other mechanical works within your trade

**Qualifications**
- Mechanical Fitter Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
- Dogging or Basic Rigging
- High Risk Licence - Forklift

**Essential Criteria**
- Experience on one or more of the following:

- Previous experience working on Hydraulic, Lubrication, Pneumatic Heavy Mining and General Industrial Equipment
- Sound Knowledge of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, HPU, cylinders and piping requirements using specialist tooling
- Demonstrate understanding of tensioning bolts and use of special fixings
- Experience with Cylinder Repair equipment i.e., Honing and Cylinder Nut break machines, Hydraulic Test Bench
- Ability to work to fine tolerances with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Commitment to working safely in a team environment
- Recording of data accurately for assembled equipment
- Use of measuring equipment to record data
- Trade Technically Competent

**Desirable Criteria**
- Previous experience working on Hydraulic powered plant and equipment
- Experience with component Assembly and O/Hauls
- Experience with Hydraulics, Lubrication and Pneumatics
- Experience in component expanding and shrinking when assembling equipment.

**Responsibilities**
- Work autonomously or in a team from allocated duties issued from the Supervisor/Management
- Operates and maintains All Workshop Equipment within your skill set
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
- Selects appropriate Tooling or machine for a given task
- Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
- Assemble to OEM Tolerances and specification
- Takes precise measurements when measuring
- Only operate equipment that you have been trained and assessed as competent to operate.
- Ensure scope of works for each piece of equipment is adhered too
- Ensuring work is completed within the scope and time frames allocated
- Monitors production where required.
- Maintain inventory of completed products
- Operate in a safe manner
- Perform thorough pre-start checks of your equipment at the start of every shift
- Ensure that all machines and equipment are maintained in a clean and tidy condition and that no items are left loose
- Undertake a post check inspection at the end of each shift
- Immediately notify your supervisor of any major defects found whilst performing duties
- Ensure all defects and hazards are reported for future action (defects of a minor nature are to be rectified at the time of inspection)
- Complete daily time sheets accurately and in a timely manner including clocking on and off work hours
- Actively participate and have input into toolbox and safety meetings
- Ensure all RCR policies, procedures and instructions are always adhered to
- Complete a minimum of 3 take five risk assessments daily and ensure risk assessments JHA’s and SWMS and permits are completed for all uncontrolled risks
- Overseeing, guiding, and assisting apprentices and trades assistants
- Perform any additional tasks as directed which are within your skill, qualification, and competence level

**Salary**: $52.00 - $75.00 per hour
