The Finance team at Canva are the trusted co-pilots to our many different teams, delivering key financial insights to help them achieve their goals which in turn drives the success of Canva. We’re a highly visible team, and the work we do has a huge impact in shaping both the strategic direction and day to day operations of canva.

The finance & legal team’s mission is to protect and serve Canva and its key stakeholders; that is protecting Canva from external pressures and risks whilst balancing the need to best serve our teams.

We looking for talented individuals with skills across the below Finance specialities:
Accounting
- Have ownership of month end close packs for specific entities within the Canva Group structure and coordinating closely with key stakeholders across the business to ensure the most accurate and timely information has been recorded
- Be the primary owner of monthly balance sheet reconciliations reports for entities within the Canva Group structure - investigating any discrepancies and accounting adjustments required
- Maintain appropriate files, reports, documentation and data related to GL accounting, such as supporting information for all accruals and variances
- Ownership of policy compliance across multiple group entities and ensuring process roll-outs for new entities
- Working with the wider team and ownership of specific areas of process improvement projects and process documentation across the General Ledger team

Rewards
- Lead implementation for new and existing programs from end to end including: analysis, stakeholder engagement, project management, communications, and change management
- Partner with leaders to understand org design changes and proactively identify necessary adjustments that will enhance the job architecture and its governance
- Analyse available data to drive targeted programmatic decisions; designs processes to collect data from new sources
- Leverage knowledge of market dynamics to tie Canva’s jobs to the external market and annually review structures to manage salary and equity compensation
- Drive the execution of Canva’s reward cycle from communication to leadership through execution of outcomes in partnership with the Reward and People teams

Tax
- Drive all things tax, compliance and advisory, in Australia and a number of jurisdictions in Asia Pacific in which the Group operates in
- Champion tax effect accounting including: Prepare and review the global consolidated tax effect accounting, Collaborate with the broader finance team as pursue the conversion to US GAAP
- Deliver the group’s tax reporting process, Proved tax effect accounting training, Implement technology to facilitate with the tax effect accounting process on a global scale
- Dive into complex tax technical matters and find solutions for critical business needs, including drafting technical advice and being the key point of contact for the APAC region
- Explore transfer pricing matters and collaborate with other teams to incorporate intercompany charges with month-end processes
- Be the ambassador for process improvement of your relevant jurisdictions

Commercial Finance
- Budget tracking, reporting and analysis
- Supporting planning activities, such as annual budgeting and monthly forecasting with the central team that maintains the overall forecast model
- Helping weave the story and interpret what both financial & non-financial metrics are telling us about performance, and where risks/opportunities lie
- Be the key driving force for process improvement - identifying areas of improvement in both financial & operational, and helping take the business along the journey
- Build strong relationships and act as a key stakeholder for the operational marketing team - helping monitor spend and performance, giving them complete transparency and flagging potential risks
- Ad hoc involvement in wider finance projects and other business partnering initiatives
