**Mandatory requirements:
Possession of a degree in social work, the behavioural sciences or legal Studies from a recognised tertiary institution.

Key Duties and responsibilities:
Ensure that high quality legal support services are delivered on behalf of the Queensland Government.
Manage the interface of departmental matters, other than child protection proceedings, before courts and the QCAT in accordance with legislation, policies, programs and procedures.
Provide information, advice and consultancy to departmental staff and other key stakeholders on a state-wide basis in relation to policy, practice and procedures relevant to the departments participation in courts and QCAT, including but not limited to; adoption matters; section 91B requests (Family Law), and special medical procedure matters information sharing (Family Courts); and interstate and intercountry child protection matters.
Undertake and/or assist others to undertake the necessary interviews, assessments and documentation to formulate court and tribunal material, and provide post proceedings advice which is consistent with departmental policies and practice standards; and resource and support departmental witnesses as required.
Implement, monitor and maintain data recording systems; contribute to the development and maintenance of systems in relation to file matters to ensure the efficient management of court and tribunal events; timely recording of outcomes; and monitoring of relevant trends and issues.
Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders including officers of Office of the Child and Family Official Solicitor, the Director Child Protection Litigation, interstate child welfare authorities, Magistrates, legal representatives, QCAT, and the Family Courts to support the functions of the team.
Monitor and contribute to the development of practice standards, operational guidelines, and review mechanisms to promote effective and efficient departmental participation in courts and the tribunal and foster a culture and philosophy of frontline service delivery, cooperation, commitment to excellence and a professional ethic which ensures that Court Services continues to meet the department's priorities.
Support regional departmental staff and build capacity through training and professional development processes associated with the delivery of departmental services to the courts and the Tribunal for matters other than child protection proceedings.
Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
Develop and maintain key relationships with the family law courts, QCAT and other relevant stakeholders.

Delegations:
This position is an authorised officer under the Child Protection Act 1999 and holds a statutory delegation in relation to this.
