Is a Queensland Government Department with offices on the Southside of Brisbane.

**Your new role**

Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for building meaningful relationships and driving industry engagement ? This is an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Officer to join this Queensland Government Department on a 12-month temporary basis. As an Engagement Officer you will play a crucial role in supporting the team and driving successful engagement strategies.

You will plan and execute activities to support industry engagement strategies, including prioritising project activities, independently completing assigned tasks, and overseeing project resources.

Build maintain and enhance industry relationships and networks both internally and externally, facilitating the implementation of engagement strategies. This may involve resolving conflicts through effective communication or appropriate escalation.

Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire ant legislation and biosecurity obligations. Utilise engagement techniques to effectively communicate relevant policies to the target industry sector based on market research and industry feedback.

Communicate effectively with designated industry groups on behalf of the program area/agency within department guidelines.

Collaborate in establishing and promoting events on behalf of the organisation, aligned with key projects and business needs.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be considered for this role you will hold a relevant qualification in engagement or communication from a recognised tertiary institution would be highly regarded.

Previous experience in community and stakeholder engagement, including the preparation, implementation and evaluation of engagement plans.
