Exciting 12-month contract for an Engagement Officer with QLD Gov Dept in the south of Brisbane

Is a Queensland Government Department with offices on the Southside of Brisbane.

**Your new role**

Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for building meaningful relationships and driving industry engagement? This is an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Officer to join this Queensland Government Department on a 12-month temporary basis. As an Engagement Officer you will play a crucial role in supporting the team and driving successful engagement strategies.
- Plan and undertake activities supporting community engagement strategies, including the prioritisation of project activities, the independent completion of tasks assigned and oversight of project resources.
- Build, maintain and improve community relationships and networks, internally and externally, to enable implementation of engagement strategies. This may include resolving conflicts through effective communication or opportune escalation.
- Use engagement and communication techniques to ensure the community knows what they need to do to ensure they follow the Biosecurity Act 2014.
- Communicate effectively with designated community stakeholders on behalf of the program area/agency within department guidelines.
- Establish and promote events on behalf of the organisation in conjunction with key projects and business needs.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- A relevant qualification in engagement or communication from a recognised tertiary institution would be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in community and stakeholder engagement including the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of engagement plans
