About the role
The Clinical Records Officer is responsible for providing administrative and systems support to ensure the accurate recording, storage, transport and retrieval of confidential patient medical records between West Moreton Health facilities and off-site storage provider.
**The key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Process, receipt and track incoming and outgoing patient medical records accurately to ensure charts are accessible for timely continuity of patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality during the management of patient medical records for off-site storage processes.
- Identify, retrieve, and process patient medical records that are eligible for transfer to the external off-site storage provider.
- Identify, retrieve, request and process destruction of patient medical records in accordance with the appropriate retention schedule.
- Retrieve patient medical records via online ordering system for any urgent and non-urgent requests.

About you
- High level knowledge in patient medical records practices (paper and electronic), privacy/confidentiality and retention and disposal of clinical records.
- Effective time management skills to plan and prioritise tasks to achieve required deadlines.
- Ability to provide patient safety and quality care focus and how clinical records practices contribute to the organisations mission and values.
- Actively participates and provides valuable contributions to a multi-disciplinary team and furnishes a positive culture within the organisation.
- Understands quality standards and systems and maintains high professional standards in quality and quantity of work, remaining flexible to embrace change.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
