The role of Garment Technician is to manage the process of production with relation to garment construction, specification, grading and quality assurance, on all garments from product development through to delivery to the warehouse, in accordance with design specifications and delivery deadlines.
**Responsibilities**:
Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs.
Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
Manage the QC process of garments.
Run spec checks & raise QC reports.
Check quality on bulk production to ensure it meets garment specification.
Resolve and manage any discrepancies where necessary.
Give approval Shipping for goods to be dispatched.
Ensure the company’s quality control procedures are maintained to the highest standard and are kept current.
Develop technical specifications and grading in AP21.
Compile technical drawings using Excel Illustrator/Photoshop as required.
Assist design team with creating initial tech packs/specifications/patterns for more accurate SMS or first fits.
Pattern making when required.
Attend weekly production meetings and ensure all resulting action points are followed up within the designated time frame.
**Qualifications**:
Proficient computer skills including Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
AP21 knowledge an advantage.
2 + years' Garment Technician/Pattern Making experience in a similar role.
Strong garment construction knowledge and methods for knits / wovens.
Ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external suppliers.
Confidence and high level communication skills.
