**Head of Investigations**

The Head of Investigations is a leadership position within the Security Investigations Unit, reporting to the Group Executive General Manager Security. This role manages a multi discipline team responsible for undertaking investigations into serious policy breaches, criminal activity or any other related matters as required that may pose a risk at Crown Melbourne. The incumbent has oversight on all investigations, intelligence gathering, analysis and reporting on criminal and other related risk matters.

The Head of Investigations will guide and support their team to conduct complex and sensitive investigations, implement best practice and contemporary regulatory approaches in relation to the operation responsibility of the Security Investigations Unit.

The Head of Investigations will also perform plain clothes surveillance on the gaming floor and other required areas that forms part of investigations and provides an opportunity to potentially locate and identify excluded patrons and detect criminal activity.

Furthermore, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining healthy working relationship with Law Enforcement and Intelligence Agencies in Victoria and other required jurisdictions.

Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

- Proactively plan and conduct investigations and respond to all matters of criminality and serious policy breaches against Crown Melbourne, its team members and customers and collate evidence for prosecution.
- Support performance/conduct related investigations with departmental management and People and Culture where required with team members and provide outcomes.
- Investigate and produce reports for Legal in relation to serious complaints from Patrons under Legal Professional Privilege.
- Conduct reviews and makes recommendations into Casino Control Act and barring’s of patrons and barring reviews.
- Provide an effective security intelligence service to minimize threat, intimidation, terrorism, public disorder and acts of violence at Crown Melbourne.
- Manage requests from Law Enforcement Agencies and where possible arrange for them to obtain their own statements unless otherwise deemed necessary by Senior Management and/or Crown’s Legal Department.
- Own the law enforcement relationship and act as the primary point of contact across Crown Melbourne on behalf of various stakeholders.
- Evaluate statistics as they are produced by the Security Analytical team to proactively formulate investigation plans in an effort to reduce crime within the organization.
- Remain abreast of industry developments, best practice investigative standards and anticipate and assess opportunities, threats and initiatives to the Crown business, its people and reputation.

- Demonstrated ability to build high performing teams.
- Ability to form productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholder groups.
- A team player who is skilled at fostering a productive and supportive work environment.
- Experience in leading and managing criminal investigations in Law Enforcement.
- Experience in the intelligence field and the production of comprehensive reporting.
- Experience in working within a compliance and/or strict regulatory regime.
- Minimum requirement of Certificate III in Investigation is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications will be higher regarded
