Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced, organised, passionate and inspiring Communications Team Lead to lead the day-day resourcing and delivery of key Council communications tasks, projects and campaigns.

**About the role**

The Communications Team Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Communications Marketing and Brand team resources, specifically resource allocation and work requests across the team through to monitoring delivery of those requests to agreed timelines. This includes but is not limited to securing backup and contract resources as needed, allocating resources for emergency purposes and well as onboarding and induction, ensuring all resources have access to the software, hardware and systems required to complete all work.

This role will support the Manager to lead the development and implementation of Council’s communications strategy, through effective operational day-day management of team resources. This role also forms part of the Communications Marketing and Brand Team Leads, who work together with the Manager to drive proactive, strategic thinking, best practice and operational excellence through to delivery of all Council communications and effective management of Communication platforms.

In addition to driving operational efficiency across the Communications Team, the Communications Team Lead is a persistent problem solver, positioned at the heart of the traffic flow of briefs from internal and external stakeholders and at the heart of how the team operates day-day. This role carries an important responsibility in helping to protect and maintain the reputation of the team through quality, reliable delivery of communications work including, where relevant, strategic consultation on the best channels to achieve the best communications outcomes for those briefs.

- A seasoned Communications professional with a relevant degree and at least 10 years of experience, including operational management of creative professionals?

**About You**

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate their competency in the following essential areas:

- Communications or Marketing degree and/or 10 + years of equivalent industry experience.
- Recent, relevant experience in the public sector or local government role.
- Expertise and experience across a range of disciplines and formats including but not limited to: PR/media, graphic design, video, social media, eDMs and web development
- Proven success in the operational delivery of strategic communications and marketing.
- Proven experience in leading a diverse, cross-functional team of specialists.
- Extensive experience in cross-platform marketing and media, particularly digital media.
- Proficiency with digital project management tools such as Microsoft Planner/Trello/Asana.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with constantly changing priorities and multiple internal demands and stakeholders.
- A positive, can-do attitude and natural problem-solving skills.
- Solutions-focused problem solver with the ability to show initiative and leadership to overcome challenges as they arise.
