**Job Description**:
**THE ROLE**:
The purpose of this position is to champion a strong Risk and Compliance culture within the Payright business through the identification, management and mitigation of key business risks including financial, financial crime, reputation, compliance and other operational risks.

The position will assist the Head of Compliance and the broader risk and compliance department in providing leadership and direction to ensure a strong risk and compliance culture is actively and continuously developed and imbedded across the entire Payright business. This role is also key in monitoring business activities and conducting assurance over key business processes to ensure adherence to legislative and policy requirements, and identification of opportunities for process & cultural improvements.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Operational Risk Management**
- Support the implementation of an integrated Operational Risk and Compliance framework that is designed to identify, assess and mitigate legal, operational and compliance risk including fraud and financial crime.
- Work with the Head of Compliance to translate Board approved compliance risk appetite into risk policies.
- Proactively work with business functions to identify and assess key operational risks and controls.
- Review and maintain applicable Risk Assessments and Programs as required.
- Identify, assess and track significant risks and regulatory change, both current and emerging.
- Ensure staff and merchants receive ongoing training and advice in identifying and escalating operational risk / compliance issues.
- Actively manage the Payright Issues Register and coordinate / liaise with Line 1 business to understand and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Identify and make recommendations for areas for improvement in business process, policies, and procedures to assist in issue reduction.
- Provide coaching to employees where required to assist with the reduction of issues.
- Support Line 1 with incidents/issues, including the review and challenge of actions/root cause analysis.

**Monitoring / Assurance**
- Lead the assurance processes within the business through:

- Effective design and delivery of the monitoring / assurance program
- Review and analyse business processes for control effectiveness
- Proactively suggest enhancements to improve the monitoring program and its implementation.
- Provide Head of Compliance and business management with analysis, information and recommendations regarding activities reviewed
- Coordinate / oversee the implementation / progress of key actions.

**Compliance Operations**
- Assist with the development of the Payright compliance plan.
- Develop and maintain the Payright obligation’s register.
- Assist the Head of Compliance with the development of the compliance training and communications calendar.

**Culture**
- Actively drive appropriate compliance risk management cultures and behaviours across the business.
- Educate, coach, support and promote a wider understanding of compliance obligations and risk management policy and processes by providing awareness training and relevant communications.

**General**
- Support the delivery of work of the Legal, Risk and Compliance function and provide exceptional support to the General Counsel and Head of Compliance in relation to all requested support activities.
- Provide advice and guidance in the design and implementation of appropriate compliance policies, controls, processes and procedures, ensuring the company meets its compliance obligations and achieves compliance with all applicable legal/regulatory and compliance requirements, thereby mitigating losses and protecting our brand.
- Liaise with Legal for advice on Policies and Procedures (applicability of laws, legislation/guidelines to Collections) for Compliance related matters.
- Maintain consistency of policies, processes and procedures with respect to compliance by liaising with Business Departments.
