About the role
Significant reform is underway in Queensland. The Information Privacy and Other Legislative Amendments Act 2023 (IPOLA Act) amends the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) and the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act), to improve transparency and accountability of Queensland agencies and strengthen privacy protections available to individuals. The OIC is implementing the reforms and supporting agencies with preparation and compliance. The position of Coordinator - Regulatory Audits and Investigations will play a key role in support these efforts, helping drive success through your contributions to audits, investigations, and compliance projects.
Key responsibilities
Maintain accurate documentation of evidence, meetings, and correspondence for audits, projects, and reviews.
Support team members in completing audits, projects, and reviews on time.
Monitor and track project and audit timelines.
Conduct preliminary research to inform program goals and regulatory objectives.
Assist in conducting surveys, compiling responses, and preparing findings.
Help with data analysis, including cleansing, transferring data, and generating meaningful reports.
Identify anomalies and patterns in data and document analysis.
Monitor agency compliance and implementation of audit recommendations via desktop assessments.
Research and draft articles or brief reports for publication on OIC's website.
Assist with preliminary assessments of evidence for compliance with laws and policies.
Contribute to annual plans, offering support in planning and problem-solving.
Facilitate communication between team members, other OIC teams, and stakeholders for timely progress.
Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support audits and promote continuous improvement.
About the OIC
The OIC plays an important role in Queensland's integrity framework. As an independent statutory body, we are accountable to Parliament and responsible for improving transparency and trust in government. Through our regulatory functions under the RTI and IP Acts, we support government agencies in meeting their obligations, mediate privacy complaints, and conduct reviews of decisions to refuse information access.
