**Project Overview**:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.

Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

**Job Summary**:
As Electrical Designer, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for electrical engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation.

You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion.

Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Assists in the development of designs for Electrical engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed
- Assists in constructing detailed scale models
- Ensures compliance with approved Electrical design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design
- Coordinates the reviews for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline
- Assists in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Electrical designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline
- Other responsibilities as designated.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Requires a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, guides & procedures and codes relevant to electrical and instrumentation discipline.
- Ability with engineering design tools such as MicroStation V8i and Connect, AutoCAD and Navisworks Simulate.
