**The team**

The role sits in the Strategy, Portfolio and Investment Branch, responsible for leading the Sydney Trains strategy; investment and portfolio management; transformation; and reporting, analytics and insights. The branch delivers best practice enterprise-wide functions and services to achieve the long-term strategic objectives of Sydney Trains.

**The opportunity**

This is a new position and will support senior executives in the strategy function to execute on the strategic agenda, program governance and transformation. Working directly with the Strategy team, you will deliver enhanced strategic analysis, support execution and advance Executive and stakeholder reporting.

We currently have multiple positions available, offered on a 12-month initial temporary full time contract basis.

Key accountabilities include:

- Provide high quality and expert analysis and insight to the Head of Strategy, Executive Director Strategy, Portfolio and Investment and other Sydney Trains Executives to enable strategic thinking and optimise the strategic planning processes for Sydney Trains and specifics within the Enterprise Portfolio
- Provide analysis and insight that supports the strategic direction for the Enterprise Portfolio which is aligned to the Vision and Strategy of the integrated Sydney Trains strategy and assess the Enterprise Portfolio’s operational and strategic performance
- Assist in the writing/updating of strategic and business plans and support the development of the Corporate Business Plan ensuring there is a consistent and integrated process across the organisation and the plan incorporates all activities including current and new initiatives, projects and programs.

**?About you**

An experienced strategy professional, you bring several years of previous experience working in a strategy or management consulting capacity within in a tier 1 consulting firm, strategy boutique firm, or industry corporate strategy role. This has given you experience across a range of the strategy service portfolio including market and industry dynamics assessments, corporate and portfolio strategy, business unit strategy, customer and segment strategy, capability and operating model strategy, and strategy execution services.

You have a strong understanding of key business metrics (financial and non-financial), and an inquisitive nature to develop a deep understanding of the drivers of our business and industry, financial modelling experience.

Exceptional written and visual communication skills are required, as well as experience utilising PowerPoint, including strategy packs, executive team packs and board packs, with high quality using a hypothesis-driven approach. Your collaboration skills are also top notch, and you’ll have the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders in different parts of the business and at different levels of seniority.

**?Salary and benefits**

The salary for this position is RC Grade 7 ($143,555 - 157,945) per annum plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
