Your Role
This role combines both strategic leadership with day-to-day operational management. You will be required to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive education practices, supporting students with disability, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and departmental requirements.The Head of Department Inclusion works collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, teacher aides, families, and specialist staff to build capability across the school and deliver targeted, evidence-informed support to students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities include
Lead the strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of inclusive education practices aligned with school priorities and departmental policy.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in inclusive practices across the school.
Build staff capability through coaching, mentoring, and professional development related to inclusive education and disability support.
Facilitate effective case management and transitions for students with disability, in partnership with families, external agencies, and specialists.
About You
You are a passionate and experienced leader in inclusive education with a strong understanding of current legislation and inclusive education frameworks. You bring proven experience in coordinating whole-school inclusion, leading staff, managing resources strategically, and driving continuous improvement in programs and practices. You have a sharp eye for data, using it to inform planning and deliver targeted support that makes a real difference for students. Above all, you are a collaborative communicator who builds strong, positive relationships with staff, students, families, and external partners.
