**The Role**
Your primary role will be to support the Director of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance Reconnaissance) Design through the management of the Information Environment Control Board (IECB). You will facilitate senior decision makers who are making strategic and policy decisions on how Advanced Military Technology should be integrated in order to meet Government needs.
This role requires both attention to detail and personal integrity to drive good strategic and policy outcomes for Defence. In this role, you will work in a diverse and fast paced working environment with a mix of highly skilled and talented Australian Defence Force (ADF), Australian Public Service (APS) and contractors that advise the Department on some of the most complex integration issues facing the future Joint Force. Personal drive and tenacity are key qualities sought in this role as there are many stakeholders to coordinate all with valid but differing perspectives.
**About our Team**
Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) consists of the doctrine and concepts, the information systems, the sensors, processing, people and the tools required to effectively support Command across the entire spectrum of Australian Defence Force operations through the timely attainment of trusted and relevant information.C4ISR Design is a common approach to the construct of a networked Joint Force by developing force level patterns, models and design guidance for interoperability, integration and evolution of systems that can provide trusted, relevant, and timely decision-quality information.
The C4ISR Design Directorate is responsible for establishing the C4ISR design guidelines and requirements to help Defence understand the joint war-fighting environment, how to choose which C4ISR capabilities to invest in (i.e. assess risk, gaps, trade-offs and opportunities) and how to provide portfolio level guidance on systems integration and development.
Force Integration’s mission is to orchestrate the contributions of all Services and Groups to a shared C4ISR Design. Force Integration coordinates its advice and recommendations on C4ISR Design issues affecting the Joint Force through the C4ISR Design Working Group, which reports to the Information Environment Control Board (IECB).? The C4ISR Working Group enables a forum to deep-dive on particular C4ISR and Electronic Warfare related integration issues from the enterprise to the warfighting edge.
The C4ISR working group is a less formal environment mid-level discussions and analysis of C4ISR issues, whereas the IECB is more formal forum to assure the Head of Force Integration Division and the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, as the C4ISR Design Authority, that Defence projects will deliver capability that is able to be integrated into the joint force for a net gain to Defence and Government’s strategic outcomes.
