**The Role**

If you are an APS 6 Policy Officer looking for a short-term contract to start immediately with experience in policy, stakeholder engagement, HR and research, then this may be the role you have been looking for.

**Duties**
- Assist in the preparation and development of key corporate documents including HR related policies, guidelines and strategies, briefings for the Executive and key Committees and forums.
- Assist with departmental briefings, briefings for Senate Estimates and responses to Parliamentary Questions.
- Contributing to business and corporate planning.
- Research, analyse and interpret information from various sources to inform policy considerations.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordination and reporting tasks, including in relation to Business Plan deliverables and coordination of papers for internal Committees.
- Assist the General manager, Human Resources in preparing for Senate Estimates hearings and related tasks.
- Provide responsive, effective, and proactive advice and support to the Executive on a range of policy and strategic project issues.
- Assist with high-level strategic policy work, for various purposes and audiences.
- Drafting high-level correspondence.

**Do You Have?**
- Experience in, and ability to understand and interpret employment legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide forthright advice, and professionally present information to stakeholders in a range of formats.
- Comprehensive research, interpretation and critical analysis skills.
- Ability to successfully coordinate, advocate and negotiate.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong and productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in briefings, corporate reporting and coordination roles; or the ability to demonstrate transferable skills.
