**Overview of Comcare**

Comcare has several important roles. We are a work health and safety regulator, a scheme manager, a claims manager and an insurer. We also have essential enabling roles, focused on the capability and capacity of our own workforce and on supporting engagement and better practice approaches to health and safety across our scheme.

We deliver functions specified in:

- the _Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988_ (SRC Act)
- the _Work Health and Safety Act 2011_ (WHS Act)
- the _Asbestos-related Claims (Management of Commonwealth Liabilities) Act 2005_ (ARC Act)
- the Parliamentary Injury Compensation Scheme (PICS) established under the _Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017._

**Overview of the team and role**

The Claims Administration and Income Support team performs financial and enabling services to support the claims operations business in the management of claims transactions. The team performs numerous functions including financial calculations for incapacity payments, invoice entry and reconciliations for providers, registration of new claims, claims call centre and receipting of all claim documentation received. All functions are performed within legislative and policy frameworks.

The Claims Payroll Officer is part of a team responsible for timely and accurate payment of incapacity benefits for claimants that have separated from the Commonwealth. The Claims Payroll Officer will contribute to and manage a range of payroll functions related to claims management income support and achievement of key performance indicators and the maintenance of complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role analyses, evaluates and integrates a variety of information and assesses the likelihood of impacts and outcomes. The role also provides appropriate advice and manages resolution of issues and complaints. The role supports the Assistant Director Income Support and the Senior Income Support Assessment Officer.

**Security Clearance**

Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
