Marketing & Communications Manager - 14 Month

Kennedys is looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to join our Business Development team based in Sydney for a maximum of 14 months. Reporting to the Senior BD & Marketing Manager APAC as part of a collegiate team, you will play a key role in supporting partners and lawyers across all Australian offices. Regardless of where the role is based, all team members are expected to operate on a national basis - including occasional interstate travel when required. This is a busy, varied, hands-on role for a capable, experienced marcomms professional who enjoys a smaller team environment, wants to build their career in professional services. **Team** Kennedys global Business Development team promotes Kennedys services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets. The Australian BD team works in close collaboration with colleagues in APAC, UK, EMEA, US and LatAm on a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives. The BD & Marketing team in Australia supports our growing office network (currently 4 locations). The current team is semi-specialised in Clients & Markets and Marketing Comms, although all team members work together to provide backup and overflow capacity as priorities and deadlines require. The Marketing & Communications Manager supervises an experienced adviser and publications editor. **Key Responsibilities** **Brand /Comms** - To be completely across the Brand guidelines and ensure all marcomms outputs comply with those guidelines and present Kennedys in the best light. - To identify opportunities to build the brand through strategic marcomms initiatives. - Checking that appropriate style guides are followed, utilising the firm's document templates to produce formatted articles, reports and other collateral material. - Effective deployment of LinkedIn and Instagram to support internal and external comms - Work with the marcomms adviser to source creative and effective branded merchandise - Assist the Senior Manager APAC as needed with media/PR, internal comms and stakeholder management. - Work with the Clients & Markets manager to assist with drafting and coordination for legal directories and awards, and promote the results/awards on all channels. **Events & Sponsorship** - End to end management and oversight of the firm's seminars/webinars and client hospitality program - especially in developing creative event ideas and opportunities to foster closer client relationships and elevate the Kennedys brand nationally. - Project manage signature events like Spring Lunch, DiveIN and major conferences. - Manage corporate sponsorships and provide marketing leverage in social and other channels to maximise ROI. - Managing a calendar of events across all offices and socialising events via intranet and other internal channels. **Publications and Collateral** - Oversee the publication and distribution of case notes, legal articles and commentary authored by Australian legal staff. - Signing off EDMs for publications and other client communications - Work with the Senior Manager BD APAC to contribute to global publications and thought leadership initiatives, and support the development of local thought leadership aligned to strategic priorities. **Required experience** - Relevant degree or tertiary/vocational qualifications with over 5 years' of relevant work experience in a similar corporate environment - Creativity, problem solving - a "can do" approach - Critical thinking, commercial focus - analysing a business problem and effectively deploying marcomms to support the goals of the business - Campaign skills - the ability to integrate and leverage multiple channels - Hands-on approach including being able to undertake tactical work and use the relevant systems and platforms. - Prior experience in a professional services environment is preferable. - Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at any one time. - Self-starter who is driven, highly organised and outcomes focused. - Flexible and adaptable, with a calm demeanour. - Effective communicator - particularly with Partners and other senior members of staff. - Sense of humour is essential **About Kennedys** Kennedys is a global law firm with expertise in dispute resolution and advisory services.
