Our Federal Government is seeking an
**Economist** to undertake economic analysis and data investigations.

**About the role**:

- Support senior staff in developing team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives
- Build, maintain and facilitate engagements with a wide network of stakeholders
- Support senior staff to provide advice across the department’s development, trade and investment programs, economic policy
- Undertake analysis on elements of moderately complex economic development and trade issues
- Leverage research methods and tools to analyse, interpret and draw
conclusions from data and statistics to provide compelling and accurate analysis and graphics

**Ideally you will have**:

- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to prepare briefs and use graphics and data to support your analysis
- Ability to communicate to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated management and leadership capability
- Skills in international economics:

- Finance and/or trade,
- International development
- Economic modelling and
- Analysis
- Policy advice
- Data analytics
- Data communication

**Qualifications**:
Tertiary qualifications in economics or a related discipline are mandatory.
