And we choose great people who want purpose in their lives. **About the Opportunity** The Policy, Economics and Influence team has a track record of championing policy reform, working closely with State and Federal Governments and other Industry bodies, to ensure our Members’ interests are heard and top of mind. Success in this role reflects the ability to come together with other people to solve problems, critically identify current and future economic trends and assist in shaping and influencing policy aimed at fostering economic growth and development in WA. You will work alongside highly experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds — including media, marketing, economics and policy professionals — who share a collective passion for driving positive change in our community. The core function of this role is to interpret and analyse a wide range of economic indicators to help formulate the WA business community’s view on the state of the economy. Tasks include, but are not limited to: - Lead the delivery of CCIWA’s Consumer Confidence and Business Confidence Surveys; - Provide economic advice to CCIWA Members and the wider community; - Keep abreast of issues relevant to the WA and Australian business communities; - Work as part of a team to research, develop and advocate sound and sensible policy on behalf of business; - Assist in the maintenance of relationships with key local and national stakeholders, including government and business; - Prepare presentations, briefing documents and speeches for the Chief Economist and CEO; - Collect, interpret and communicate large volumes of data in a simplified, visually engaging format; and - Provide accurate and timely advice to media inquiries and statements. You will have an agile mindset and the ability to work in high performing, contemporary and cross-functional teams. You will have: - A strong academic background, including a Bachelor/tertiary degree in relevant field, such as Economics, Finance, Public Policy or a related discipline. - Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality work that meets deadlines. - Ability to critically analyse and interpret economic data and information. - Strong numeracy, analytical and research skills. - Competency in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
