**How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne**
The Swim School Team Leader is responsible for swimming and water safety programming at Melbourne City Baths. The key objective is to develop, maintain and grow participation of children, adults, schools and community groups. This will involve developing processes to maximise retention of both swim school and private swimming lessons.
The position will work closely with the Customer Experience \Team Leader to provide input to the development of programs and services that meet the needs of our target cohorts.

**In addition, the Swim School Team Leader will require**:
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values - integrity, courage, accountability, respect and excellence.
- Proven ability to implement changes to grow a swimming and water safety program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Management experience within the leisure industry, ideally in a similar role with like responsibilities including aquatic education or other complex program management.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, set, measure and achieve specific key performance indicators required for decision making in relation to swimming lessons and private swim lessons management.
- Understanding of current trends and issues facing the health and fitness industry.
- Advanced knowledge and capability using PerfectGym point of sale system, including classes module, memberships (including direct debits), facility bookings and reporting,.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with an ability to learn City of Melbourne document management systems.
- A commercial focus with an operational understanding of a local government run facility
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain certificate within four weeks of appointment.
- The role requires lifeguards to be able to undertake the requirements in the pool lifeguard qualification and the Royal Life Saving Society lifeguarding manual.
- A current Pool Lifeguard certificate and experience supervising patrons at an aquatic facility, or willingness to obtain certificate within four weeks of appointment.
- **Received 3rd vaccination in line with Victorian Government regulations**

- SISCAQU002 - Perform basic water rescues
- SISCAQU006 - Supervise clients in an aquatic facility or environment
- SISCAQU007 - Perform advanced water rescue
- HLTCPR211A - Perform CPR
A current level two First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain certificate within four weeks of appointment.
**_Units of competency_**
- HLTCPR211A - Perform CPR
- HLTFA311A - Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID001 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge of the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive program criteria.
- Teacher of Infants and preschool, Adults, Access and Inclusion, Towards Competitive Strokes or willingness to obtain within a reasonable agreed timeframe.
- Pool Operations course / Aquatic Technical Operator certificate or equivalent.
