Permanent Part Time

The McDowall State School P&C Association OSHC is a busy service requiring energetic, passionate, and proactive educators to join our team. We are currently looking for qualified staff, or staff that have completed at least one year of full time study toward their ACECQA approved qualification and have the equivalent time of experience working with children over preschool age.

Approved qualifications include:

- Early childhood, primary, secondary, or special education, etc.
- Children's Services, Early Childhood Education and Care, School Aged Education and Care, or Education Support, etc.
- Nursing, paramedicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diversional therapy, speech pathology, Behavioural science, Psychology, etc.
- Creative Arts, Fine Arts, Drama, Music, etc.
- Community Services, Human welfare studies and services, Youth Work, Disability work,
- Sport and recreation, Outdoor recreation, etc.

**Casual Educators - **must be available for a minimum of three afternoons per week, however more availability is considered favourably. Rates between $35.18 and $39.16 depending on qualifications and experience. Mornings are not guaranteed for casual but may be available if desired depending on performance, availability, and the needs of the business.

**Your responsibilities include**:

- Deliver the Before, After and Vacation Care programs under the supervision and direction of the OSHC Manager, Assistant Coordinators, Educational Leader, and Lead Educator
- Build a healthy relationship with children and their families and maintain interactive or active supervision of children in your care at all times
- Assist in delivering the service in accordance with appropriate policies and standards
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all team members

**Your qualifications**:

- Studying with relevant experience, or completed a qualification as per details above.
- Hold First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management certifications or willing to obtain

**Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday.**
- Before School 6:30am to 8:30am. Shifts vary from 6:00am-9:15am
- After School 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Shifts vary from 1:30pm-6:45pm
- Vacation Care (School Holidays) 6:30am to 6:30pm. Shifts vary from 6:00am to 6:45pm.
- Employment available for Monday to Friday. Vacation care periods may have different shift requirements that can be negotiated.
- Successful applicants for the **casual** **position** will be given after school care and vacation care shifts primarily. Before school care shifts will be given when available for high performers if desired.
- Successful applicants for the **permanent part time position **will be given two to three before school care shifts, ensuring a minimum of 20 hours, and Monday through Friday afternoon shifts. Vacation Care shifts will be prioritised for permanent employees, who will be given the option of four eight hour days with one day off, or six hour shifts daily.
